Faith Advocates Urge Caution and Care in PEPFAR CDC Restructure
CCIH joined other faith-based organizations in signing a letter to the leadership of the U.S. House and Senate Committee on Appropriations expressing concerns over the U.S. administration’s plan to significantly restructure CDC’s role in PEPFAR. The letter urges policymakers to conduct oversight to ensure that implementation is carried out carefully and responsibly, that vulnerable populations do not suffer unintended consequences, that critical public health capabilities are preserved, and that the changes undergo careful congressional review.
